Cost of Living in Sydney

wanna know what you’re up for re the living cost in Sydney? here we’ve compiled the basics about a few Sydney expenses to expect (give or take).

food
check out Woolworths – big chain supermarket – for the current cost of milk, bread, toothpaste and other everyday stuff.
small note: milk comes in litres! not pints. for a litre of milk you’re looking at around $3.00

see grocery prices @ Woolworths >

travel
the cheapest way to travel around Sydney on the train or bus is with a weekly ticket.  much cheaper way then buying a single ticket each day. grab them at any newsagency or  railway station.

train
rather than give you a giant list, here’s a few typical prices. from Sydney airport into the central station  it’ll cost you about $15.00 one way.  Inner city travel will cost you about $3.00 each way. City to Bondi junction ( near bondi beach) will cost about $4.00

bus
bus prices vary depending on how many zones you need to travel through to get to your destinations. note; these zones are nothing like the zones you find in London. we wish. It can be a little confusing but just ask the bus driver until you get the hang of it.typical prices; Inner city travel will cost you about $3.20 one way, city to bondi beach $4.00 one way, City to Manly will cost you about $5.00 one way. I get a green travel pass for the week to go from the Northern Beaches to Wynyard and it costs me $40.00 a week. watch our transport video for some hot tips too. and check out the prices here.
